About Dallas
Dallas Parsons has more than ten years experience in the field of nutrition. She started her career in the exciting area of sport nutrition and had the privilege of counselling some of Canada’s top athletes in sports such as skiing, snowboarding, gymnastics and curling in preparation for the 2010 Olympics. Delivering both individual and team focused nutrition strategies, Dallas has helped hundreds of high performance athletes and recreational athletes achieve their personal and athletic goals. After the arrival of her first baby, Dallas’ passion shifted to breastfeeding and pediatric nutrition. She earned her diploma in lactation medicine from the Newman Breastfeeding Clinic and Institute and became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. For more than four years, Dallas has been supporting moms to breastfeed and nourish their young infants and toddlers. She is fortunate to work closely with leading expert pediatricians and lactation consultants at the Newman Breastfeeding Clinic (IBC) in Toronto and in 2009, Dallas started her own consulting business, New Growth Nutrition. Dallas has dedicated herself to working with “moms to be and babies ‘til 3!” and she enjoys combining her expertise in nutrition and breastfeeding with her own experience as a mom of three little ones.
Dallas has appeared on CTV and Rogers Cable, as well as been a consulting dietitian for Earth’s Best Organic Sesame Street line of foods. She speaks frequently at local mom groups and facilitates workshops and classes at local parenting centres.
Dallas acknowledges that being a mother is an exceptionally rewarding part of a woman’s life, and she is devoted to empowering moms with the knowledge and skills to optimally feed their infants and young children.
Dallas earned an Honors Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of British Columbia and completed her internship at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC. She is a Registered Dietitian and an International Certified Lactation Consultant. She is a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario, Dietitians of Canada, the International Lactation Consultants Association and Canadian Lactation Consultants Association. She is currently working towards her designation as a Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition.
Dallas was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. She now lives in Toronto, Ontario with her husband and their three young children.
